What we collect
- Account: your email address, sign-in dates and a session cookie. We never ask for a password.
- Subscriptions: plan, status and renewal date. Payment details are handled by Stripe; we never see your card number.
- Ask the library: the questions you ask and the answers given, to run the service, enforce daily limits and improve answers.
- Visitors without an account: a one-way hash of your IP address, only to count free answers per day. We do not store your IP address in clear.
We use no advertising or third-party analytics scripts. The only cookie is the sign-in cookie, which is strictly necessary.
Who processes data for us
- Infomaniak (Switzerland): hosting and email.
- Cloudflare: domain name and DNS.
- Stripe: payments and invoices.
- Google (Gemini API): generating answers from your questions. Questions are sent without your email address.
How long we keep it
Account data is kept while your account exists. Invoices are kept for 10 years as required by Swiss law. Sign-in links expire after 20 minutes and sessions after 60 days.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data, or object to its processing, by writing to contact@thefinanceshelf.com. You may also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner or your local authority.
